Liz Truss has become the new United Kingdom prime minister. She defeated Indian-origin Rishi Sunak by 81,326 votes to 60,399. Truss is the third female Prime Minister in Britain after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May.

The personal life
Truss is married to accountant Hugh O’Leary. she has two daughters. She has three younger brothers Chris, Patrick and Francis.Her father is an emeritus professor of pure mathematics at the University of Leeds while her mother was a nurse, teacher and member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. From 1996 to 2000, Truss worked for Shell and she qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) in 1999. In 2000, Truss was employed by Cable & Wireless and rose to economic director before leaving in 2005.
